Special Education is incredibly difficult due to the vast spectrum of student abilities. A student who may be heavily delayed cognitively, may also be very socially aware. Similarly, a student who may be able to function cognitively at a very high level, my struggle heavily with emotional and behavioral management or understanding social cues. First Fantasy Books wants to take the spectrum of student readers into account with their texts, allowing readers to develop at their own pace, while creating safe spaces that encourage the reader to take academic risks.
